Trongsa is an ancestral home to the royal family of Bhutan,. The Wangchuck Dynasty controlled the country of Bhutan from the Trongsa Dzong till the time democracy was officially incorporated in Bhutan. Trongsa Dzong
The Dzong was built in 1648 and is the ancestral home of the Royal Family. Both the first and the second king ruled the country from this place. All kings held the post of Trongsa Penlop (honorary governor) prior to being crowned as the King. Apart from the breathtaking scenery
Ta- Dzong
This museum was a watch tower before built primarily to guard the Dzong from internal and external invadors. It stands impressively over a ridge above the Dzong Converted into museum in the year 2008 with the help of Austrian Goverment
Chendebji Chorten
En route to Trongsa is the Chendebji Chorten, designed on Swayambhunath temple in Katmandu. It was built in 19th century by Lama Shida, to cover the remains of an evil spirit that was killed at this spot.
